Provide 50 weighted blankets to children with special needs and/or autism.
Arden's Story
My 6.5-year old son Arden is diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay, hypotonia and other conditions. He suffered frequent sleep disruptions, until we discovered the weighted blanket. The deep touch therapy provided by the blanket helped him to sleep longer and better. We are very fortunate that we were able to provide him with a weighted blanket, which has been a wonderful sleep tool for him.
For other families with special needs children, the cost can be quite prohibitive, somewhere in the range of 200-300 francs. I wanted to be able to help other families of children with special needs also have access to a weighted blanket, which can be made at home with 100 francs worth of quality materials.
100% of donations will be used to purchase cotton fabric and poly pellets and volunteers will use these materials to create weighted blankets in four different sizes and weights. The Weighted Blanket Project will work directly with organizations in Switzerland that provide free or low-cost services and therapy to special needs children, including Cerebral and zeka, to distribute the blankets.
My Goal
My wish is to provide as many weighted blankets as possible to children who need them, until I'm no longer able to. We have exceeded our previous goal of 50 blankets, and to date have donated over 60 blankets. I want to keep it rolling for another year or so.
Any donation will help to make a difference. Please donate!
Thanks so much for your time and support.
