The Walker Warriors

June 2, 2015 was the day Debbi’s fight against cancer changed dramatically; on that day she heard the words “Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.” To say this diagnoses was a shock to Debbi and her family is an understatement. Debbi was originally diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011. After a successful mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, it was believed that Debbi was in the home stretch. This new diagnosis presents many additional challenges.

Even with all these challenges every member of the Walker family has continued to praise God and give back to their community in so many ways. 

If you know anything about cancer treatments then you know that they are expensive and even with the best insurance these expenses place a significant financial burden on a family’s resources. Over the past 4 years, Debbi and Dennis have been silently working hard to cover these bills, while also trying to provide for their kids, Maddi (18) who will be attending Florida State University in the fall and Steven (15) who will be a sophomore in high school in Cocoa Beach, FL. With this new diagnosis comes more bills and sadly, their insurance has been declining tests that her doctors feel Debbi strongly needs to help them determine the most appropriate treatment plan. While there is no cure for metastatic cancer, the correct treatments can prolong life expectancy significantly. We would like to give the Walker family the gift of freedom from financial stress as they embark on this very difficult journey as a beautiful, loving family. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the Walker family.
