Hello Friends and Family,
My two cats and I just moved to the desert (Gilbert, AZ) to start a new life. So far it's been an amazing adventure.
Before we moved, Mulder, my youngest grey tabby, was diagnosed with Feline Stomatitis. At first, it was described to me as an uncortable disease in which he would need to get pain medicine and antibiotics from time to time.
Google describes Stomatitis as " a severe, painful inflammation of a cat's mouth and gums. In most cases, the condition causes ulcers to form in the mouth; these ulcers can involve the lips, tongue, gums, and back of the throat." Basically, Mulder has an allergy to plaque. Anytime he gets plaque on his teeth his entire mouth swells up and lesions appear and he cannot eat. I've been to the vet several times for his flare ups and he generally feels better for about a week before we are back in the hosiptal. The poor guy is sick of it!
Our new vet in our new home, AZ, has stated that they have never seen a case of Stomatitis so severe and so violent and there is only one potenital cure for all of the pain...
Mulder HAS to get ALL of his teeth removed.
That's right, all 18 teeth have to come out, and very soon. He's currently on a steroid that is giving him some temporary comfort until I can find the funds/credit to pay for his ridiculously expensive surgery. As people know, I love my cats and care for them so much that often time's I'd buy food for them before I buy food for myself. But, Mulder's surgery is going to cost at or above 3000 dollars and it has to happen in the next couple of weeks.
I figured I'd reach out using gofundme because every little bit of support would help.
The poor guy has been in pain for a long time and this surgery will free him from that pain.
Thank you in advance and Mulder thanks you too!
