Theta Chi-Delta Alpha House Projects
Hello alumni of the Theta Chi-Delta Alpha Fraternity at Linfield College,
My name is Ryan Stanley and I'm the House Manager of the Theta Chi Fraternity. First off I would like to say thank you to all of our alumni. Thank you for making the culture of our fraternity incredible and thank you for carving a path for all Theta's past and present to live happy and healthy lives during and after college. It is always so much fun for our brothers to talk with alumni and hear how this fraternity has made them better men in the work force, better with their friends and family and has given them experiences they have not experienced any other place. We as a chapter are extremely motivated to continuously making improvements to our house and making Theta Chi a great place to live with brothers and make memories that last a lifetime. The biggest problem our chapter runs into when making improvements to our house is money. However, once our chapter is given the funds to do a thorough job the right way the results are breathe taking!
The pictures below are before and after pictures of our efforts to re-tile our shower floor. This is proof that we are capable of great things once we have the proper resources.
Our most recent house improvement project was laying laminate floors on our kitchen and bar area. Our kitchen has had concrete flooring for the last couple years and it was a great change to be able to put a new surface in the kitchen.
What are we asking for?
We as the current members of the Delta Alpha chapter of the Theta Chi Fraternity would like to reach out to alumni to boost the budget we have for house improvements. This is something that has not been done very much by our chapter, but we hope to continue to make you guys a part of all of our future house improvements.
Where is your money going too?
All money raised through this go fund me will go to a bank account that belongs to our Fraternity and is monitored by our Treasurer and Leon "Buzz" Stroud our Alumni Advisor.
Why is the listed price $2,500?
We have placed our target goal at $2,500 because that will cover the cost of the laminate in the kitchen, the turf in the back of the house, and we would also like to start fundraising for future house projects and also boost our rainy day funds.
Laminate
$350
Turf and materials
$600
(All labor will provided by Fraternity brothers)
What have we done so far?
The first project we started with all your gracious donations was putting astro turf in the back of the house. Before the
astroturf, the dirt square in the back of the house was covered with rocks and limited the things we could do as a fraternity. Now thanks all of your help we have installed astroturf! the turf makes a huge impact to our house and has made all of our
brothers very excited! This will give our brothers a place to study in the sun, enjoy a dinner outside on a beautiful evening and gives us another place to spend time as a fraternity. The astroturf was a low cost project that is easy to install during
the summer and spring, and can be stored away and stay protected during the winter and end of fall. It was a project the
fraternity was has been wanting for a long time!
What project is next?
The next project we would like to make to the house is improving our WiFi. With all of the improvements we our making to the house it has become a popular place to live. We currently have 19 brothers living in the house and our WiFi is not
strong enough to handle 19 students. Our brothers are having a tough time doing their homework and cannot research
information on the internet. We would like to install WiFi extenders in the house to improve WiFi connection in every
room. This will allow our brothers to do work in their room and will give our brothers more chances to spend time together
(streaming sporting events, having madden tournaments and watching T.V. as a house.) This will also be a low-cost project
that will be easy to install and make a huge impact to the house.
