Help Support Breakthrough's album "The Story of Dirt"

We (Breakthrough) are raising funds to record a second worship album. Our first worship album (The Highest Praise) was well received, so we were so excited when we felt like God said that it was time to begin writing a second worship album.

Our goal in these writing sessions has been to write lyrics that give God the honor and glory befitting the Author of all things. These lyrics come from the Word and from the amazing personal experiences we've had thanks to the Lord. We've each seen Him do awesome things in our lives, things that only He can do. We've seen everything from prayers answered at just the right time to miraculous healings. We serve an amazing God!

As always, we aspire to write music that serves the lyrics. Given the aforementioned nature of these lyrics, we are intentionally pushing ourselves as musicians. We're pushing ourselves to leave our comfort zones and give the Lord the very best we can give. We don't want to just give Him another version of things we've done in the past. We want to give the Lord an offering that is much better than anything we've given before. Thankfully, the work is paying off. In the words of our producer, these are "big epic songs."

So what's with the title? The Story of Dirt is the story of us. God created us from dust and breathed His life into our lungs. He walked with us in the garden. He had mercy on us when sin entered the world and gave us a way to carry on beyond the fall. He guided us through promises and prophecies, prophecies fulfilled in His one and only Son, sent as the payment for our sins so that we could be with Him forever. He did it all out of love for His children. He has been faithful since day one, teaching dust to live and to sing. The very least we can do is endeavor to offer Him our best through praise and worship. We want to truly honor our King.

This project feels like a major milestone for the band. We are so excited to share these songs with you.
