Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit The Skopelos International Film Festival for Youth under the umbrella of The Skopelos Foundation for the Arts. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for contributing to this cause which means so much to me.
The Skopelos Foundation for the Arts is a 501(c)(3) with a Board of Directors located in the United States, a studio located in Skopelos, Greece. Part of our goal is to support Skopelos' local community, especially the underprivileged youth. One of the initiatives we offer is the Skopelos Film Festival for Youth (SIFFY), a yearly filmmaking program for youth. Each year we invite professional filmmakers to work with the children of Skopelos to create short films. The films are based on a yearly theme, and we allow children from ages 8 - 18 to participate. This year 60 children from Skopelos participated with ten professional filmmakers from America, Canada, England, Holland and Italy to make 10 short films. 2023 will mark our twelfth year organizing the festival with the theme "Fun". Due to the melancholy nature of the theme"Memories" this year, we decided to create a more positive concept for the next SIFFY. Every dime is spent on the kid's education. This volunteer program is where more than 65 people work for a week to ensure the kids have the most fantastic experience possible.
This year we expanded to the island of Sifnos. Because we cannot expand further in Skopelos, we thought of taking SIFFY on the road. The goal in the future is to support children from different islands. Take a look at the two films created on Sifnos. They are both amazing examples of what can be done in a short time with these kids!

If you cannot donate money, another way to help is to volunteer your time during the festival. We have had volunteers from America, Australia, Canada, India, S. Africa, S.Korea and other countries. This is a rare opportunity to work with incredibly talented filmmakers and young kids from Skopelos and is a great way to immerse yourself in this incredible culture and see one of the most beautiful islands in Greece!
