These wonderful friends who help everyone… need our help.

My Precious Friends…

I come to you today with an urgent request for assistance for dear friends who need our help. It took convincing from more than me to get Mark Newton and Tammy Turner to allow me to create a GoFundMe page. Mark was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer 2 weeks ago and began daily radiation treatments immediately at Duke. Mark has lived in Richmond until recently for his work, but now their home is in Wilmington, and because of the 150+ mile distance, they cannot commute and have had to take residence in a hotel in Durham for an extended stay.

Needless to say, like their daily lifestyles, both of their incomes have also come to an abrupt halt. The cost of accommodations, food, transportation, even the cost of having their pets taken care of continues to climb. They continue to have their house payment, utilities, and also have to continue his monthly rent of $1600 a month in Richmond, VA for Mark’s insurance to remain intact.

All of this doesn’t include the bills for doctors, hospitals, radiation, chemo, or immunotherapy.

It’s so hard to allow others to help us sometimes, but it takes a whole tribe to get through this. If you can… please help during this difficult time… even if it’s the cost of a breakfast. I understand if you can’t, but please know that Mark and Tammy covet your prayers and thoughts.
