Meet Caleb McLean
He is one of Travis and Sarah’s 6 children.
Two years ago Caleb and the McLean family were embarking on the fight of their lives. Then 6 years old, Caleb was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent multiple surgeries, a host of treatments followed by rehab and recovery.
The road for Caleb and his family was full of twists and turns – but this guy came out on the other side!
They were enjoying the life remission would offer, but that would be short lived.
Cancer has returned and their new reality is that the future is uncertain. The ependymoma tumor is a slow moving cancer and is generally non-responsive to radiation or chemo.
Caleb has two tumors - both are on his spine. He is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove one of the two tumors on March 22. It is hoped this first surgery will remove the tumor and any residual cancer will be treated with radiation. If this is successful they will attempt to remove the second tumor following the same treatment regime.
