Theressa Needs Help Getting On Her Feet
Donation protected
Hi friends! I know Theressa has been struggling to get back on her feet for awhile now and I suggested doing a Go Fund Me for help. Due to her pride and not wanting to share her woes publicly, she didn't want this to happen. However, after us talking about this for literally months now, she is giving in, as she knows this will result in a better life for her and Eva.
As we all know and love Theressa for, she is used to (and most comfortable) being the helper. Please know ahead of time that she truly intends to pay it forward as soon as she is financially able to do so. The nitty gritty: She has been unable to work since early 2019 due to ongoing and various health issues. Her state disability ended in September of 2020 and she is currently in the process of trying to get onto permanent disability (which is a long process which she's already a year into). The next phase will be going before a judge with the assistance of a lawyer. Essentially, she has zero income other than the little the state is helping her with.
Coincidentally, in September 2020 she had a severe and complete mental breakdown and was whisked away to another state in order to get treatment. All of her daughter's and her possessions have been left behind (with exception of their clothing), including their much loved pups (they’re in amazing hands and being spoiled rotten she assures us!). Essentially, she is having to start all over. Her and Eva are currently staying with her best friend while she gets back on her feet. Due to her ongoing and various health issues, she is not able to work, even part time, as she is deemed "unreliable". Not just due to her physical health, but her mental health as well. Even if she were able to obtain a position, she is facing a high probability of having 2 major surgeries in the next couple of months - which will both take a minimum of 6-12 weeks to recover from.
How the funds will be spent: She is in need of a safe and reliable vehicle. She is hoping on using the funds donated to purchase a vehicle, insurance, gas and maintenance costs, etc to get her to and from her various and numerous weekly doctors appointments. As they are currently staying with her best friend and her family, the next goal would be to get into their own home. They will need to purchase everything from kitchen basics to furniture. Imagine starting ALL over if you will. Not to mention deposits, move in costs, furniture, utilities, etc. She has been doing research on purchasing a manufactured home and while they are a less expensive option, there is still a monthly space rent.
She desperately wants to be able to give her daughter back what she had prior to the events leading up to their current situation. The flexibility and freedoms of having their own vehicle (being able to travel back “home” so she can visit her friends) and the stability of having their own home (with their animals!!) will help her tremendously in her healing journey as well. What 14 year old girl wants to share a room with her mom? The last 6-7 months have been especially difficult on her. She had to leave her life, friends and home behind at the drop of a dime. She just wants to be able to give her some semblance of normal back in her life...
Theressa's not too proud to finally admit that she needs help. It took a long while and a lot of coaxing from me, but she knows she can’t do this alone. This is truly humbling experience for her, and she is appreciative of any donation you are willing or able to give, or even just sharing our request. Thank you. ❤️
