Hello everyone, my name is Theresa Yvette. I am 37 years old, mom to 3 incredible, beautiful, talented teenagers, and I am married to the love of my life, Eric.

My nightmare began on January 23rd when I went to urgent care due to awful stomach cramps and nausea. A CT scan showed I had a mass in my colon which would need further testing, so I was transferred to a hospital where I was admitted and scheduled for a colonoscopy the following morning. I woke up to the doctor telling me I was going straight to surgery because there was a tumor in my colon and they believed it was cancerous.

The tumor along with 1/3 of my colon and some lymph nodes were removed and after healing from my surgery a PET scan was done. At that point I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer that has spread to my stomach and my lungs. I began chemotherapy on April 6 but I have a long fight ahead of me.

It has been physically, emotionally, and mentally draining to say the least. With doctor’s appointments every week, chemotherapy every other week, extreme fatigue and nausea, I have not been able to go back to work. My husband has been having to work overtime, but he is also a disabled veteran and there are times he is in too much pain to go to work as well.

I’m starting this fundraiser for help with out of pocket costs not covered by our insurance, living expenses such as utilities and rent, and any unexpected expenses we may have while I’m in treatment. Any and all donations, no matter how much, will help tremendously and my family and I are forever deeply grateful for your support through this difficult time in our life.
