Theresa has been battling Crohn’s Disease for about 20 years. She has been in and out of the hospital and has had many surgeries because of it.  In the beginning of October 2017, she went to the hospital and the doctors found varicose veins on her esophagus which is a sign of liver disease.  She had multiple doctor’s visits eventually finding out she had a liver disease called Fatty Liver. This disease is caused by all the Prednisone she had been taking through the years for her Crohn’s disease.  From November 2017 to January 2018, she was in and out of the hospital due to pain and discomfort from excessive water retention build-up caused by the liver being scarred and damaged and not functioning as normal.  On January 22nd, Theresa went to University of Madison for some scheduled appointments/tests in order to get on the liver transplant list.  During the appointments, she was admitted to the hospital due to pneumonia and a respiratory infection.  She ended up in the ICU with a breathing tube to help her fight through the pneumonia and infection.  On February 3rd, she got the breathing tube taken out and on February 4th she was moved out of the ICU.  On February 6th, she was put on the liver transplant list and only 2 days later a liver came available.  She had liver transplant surgery on February 10th.  She will continue to stay in the hospital for a month or more while she recovers and gets her strength back and she will continue to have a long road to recovery when she gets back home.  Theresa's husband Keith, their 6 children and 5 grandchildren (and one on the way) and multiple other family/friends are all waiting for her to be able to come back home.

Funds raised will help the family pay for medical expenses.  Please keep Theresa and her family in your thoughts and prayers.  Feel free to provide a  supportive message also during her recovery phase.
