Theresa Darby’s Glioblastoma Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Taylor and I am one of Theresa’s three daughters. In February of 2021, Theresa drove to pick up one of her daughters from school when she noticed something wasn’t right. What followed next would change her, and those who love her, lives completely. Theresa had a stroke, followed by a witnessed seizure. Upon further testing and a biopsy, Theresa was diagnosed with a high grade, inoperable, Glioblastoma. Theresa underwent 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. She had a few months break, and has just begun her second round of chemotherapy. Theresa’s first round of treatment was through UConn John Dempsey Hospital. Further MRI testing has upgraded her tumor to stage IV Glioblastoma. Her care has been 100% transferred to Dana Farber at this time.
My family is extremely grateful for all of the help, meal deliveries, and donations received. I have started this Go Fund Me because unfortunately, those donations have run out.
As imagined, a lengthy hospital stay, rehabilitation, chemotherapy, radiation, infusions every two weeks with a drug called Avastin, multiple MRI’s, and more has accumulated large medical bills. Theresa’s stroke has left her with right sided arm and leg weakness, expressive aphasia, as well as fine motor skill deficits so she is unable to work and needs someone home with her at all times. Theresa and her family would be beyond grateful for any further donations.
