There's no wrong way to perform an act of kindness

Hello, my name is Bryan and I'm fundraising for my mother Marcy. My mother is one of the strongest people I know, and today I'm reaching out to the world for a bit of kindness. Whether it's simply sharing this fundraiser or giving a donation, the kindness will stay with her and our family forever.

My mothers arduous journey starts with a visit to the eye doctor about a year ago. She was diagnosed with cancer behind her eye and was at risk of losing her sight. Marcy had a radiation plaque surgically implanted behind her eye to slowly dose the cancer with radiation. Months later the surgery was found to be successful, but while receiving scans to view the progress for her eye treatment, the doctors discovered breast cancer.

The doctors immediately recommended to undergo a double mastectomy procedure to combat the newly found cancer, followed by chemotherapy. After several months of surgeries and hospital visits, my mother started to emerge out from the shadow of cancer once again. Her bravery and effort would soon be challenged once more after scans on her surgery results arrived.

Doctors informed her the eye cancer was a specific rare type that had the ability to break off and travel to different areas of the body. After receiving full body scans, we discovered the eye cancer did break off and infected her liver. The doctors diagnosed her with a terminal liver cancer that is considered by modern medicine to be incurable.

The doctors recommended immunotherapy treatments to give Marcy the most time possible with family. The therapy created an imbalance in her GI tract which led to massive sepsis and hospitalization for over a month. She's lost a tremendous amount of strength and weight due to the months worth of surgeries, therapies, and hospitals. She's finally at home again resting and gaining strength to walk and perform daily tasks on her own.

The time off work that husband and family have taken to support Marcy has taken its toll financially. I'm asking on behalf of my mother for short term support to help her and my father through the next two months until my mother can fully recover, and normal work schedules can be resumed. Whether it's a small donation or simply sharing this story, there's no wrong way to perform an act of kindness. Thank you.
