There's a lot at Stake!!!

Hello,

My name is Wanda Wilkerson, and I am fundraising for Cody, Megan, and little George Stake.

I have had the pleasure of working with and supervising Cody for almost three years and he is such an interesting funny guy with a sensitive soul. I have met his wife Megan and his son George, and when he talks about them he lights up. You can tell they are the two most important people in his life.

In 2016 Cody underwent surgery to remove a large mass that was growing in his brain. The surgery was successful and with the help of his loving wife Megan he was able to strengthen

his cognitive and physical health, which made it possible to get their lives back on track. Afterward Cody, and Megan welcomed little George into their lives, followed by Cody starting a new career.

In 2020 Cody had to undergo another brain surgery to alleviate the seizure activity that was occurring. He was off work for months, but he came back with a determination to triumph. Cody then took on a new and rewarding job assignment where he has the opportunity to connect with the youth in our Summit County community. When working with youth you have to be genuine, otherwise those kids can smell insincerity a mile away, Cody is the right person for the job since he oozes sincerity, compassion, and understanding.

In talking with Cody recently he communicated that Megan is dealing with a serious medical issue of her own that will require surgery in the near future, he expressed concern because she has been there for him so many times through his surgeries, and he wants to be there for her through hers. Cody will be having a third brain surgery within the next week and his recovery will be about eight weeks long and Megan will have her surgery at some point after Cody recovers.

Cody and Megan do have insurance, but the out of pocket cost will build up quickly. I was compelled to start this GoFundMe page for a couple of reasons. First, watching Cody deal with his surgeries and coming to work with a positive attitude is inspiring. I feel guilty about complaining with small issues I might be having after watching Cody. Second, I really want to help this family and to let them know how much friends and total strangers care about their situation. It can be hard to know what to do when you want to help, but you don't want to intrude in what can be a very personal and sensitive situation in people's lives.

Cody and Megan's situation is urgent, when you read this, please listen to your heart and give what you feel that you can, every little bit helps. If you don't have the funds to help Cody, Megan, and little George please keep them in your prayers.
