Hi all, I'm Wybo, Loek's proud uncle, the smiling boy on the picture. And Loek is an Angel.

Loek is diagnosed with the Angelman syndrome, which is a congenital neurodevelopmental disorder named after the English pediatrician Harry Angelman who first described a number of children with this syndrome in 1965. Patients with Angelman syndrome often have problems with learning, speaking and moving .

I'm running a half marathon to raise money for The Association Angelman Syndrome Netherlands (vASN for short) which has set itself the goal of providing information about Angelman syndrome to parents, family, doctors, care providers, scientists and other stakeholders.

I will be running the half marathon of Amsterdam on October 15th 2023, and I hope you will cheer for me. You can do so by making a donation to the vASN via this gofundme page.
