Duane is an amazing man and dear friend of my family (affectionately know as Mr D). He is the first person to help anyone but the last to ask. Duane is also medically retired, having served two tours oversees as an infantryman fighting on the front lines of combat one in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He was injured oversees before he was sent to the ole guard and served in the presidential campaign before being medically retired. In addition to severe injury to both legs, numerous surgeries, and a traumatic brain injury, Duane also suffers from sever PTSD and physical limitations due to his injuries. 

As many military veterans find, support is often limited to get the help needed. When he is on a dark place which happens more often then we would hope the horses bring him a peace that is indescribable. 

I have been working with his amazing wife and we have found him a great therapy horse, that is strong enough for the big guy he is () and has amazing training as a therapeutic horse having worked with other veterans and individuals with PTSD and TBIs. Our goal is to help him own horse that he can ride and can support him through his struggles. He has given so much to his country and to my family and we would like this to thank him for his service and show him how deeply he means to all of us! 

His daughter also wanted to add: “even when he is going through dark struggles he is still an amazing father, husband, friend, and worker. He is always trying to find ways to help everyone he can and he is dedicated and deeply involved with organization such as the American legions so that he can give back.”

The amount listed is enough to cover the expenses for a horse on hold for him. I so deeply appreciate any help to us reaching our goal❤️
