In Dec, my 10yrs old son Cobi was hit by a car in a hit and run incident.
His little sister Victoria who is 9, witnessed it all happened right before her eyes. My kids are very close in age and emotionally, this situation has made it hard for my daughter to leave her brother's side; definitely without constantly asking and worrying about him. He suffered a fractured foot, swelling and severe bruising on multiple parts of his body(especially in the groin area; due to the fact that the impact caused the bike seat to come off the bike with him simultaneously), and scratches on his hands from trying to stop himself after the impact. This traumatized My children. They are still not comfortable while being outside. Nothing made my children happier, than playing outside; especially my son. Now, My son spends more time inside playing and living, than he ever has during his entire childhood. The light that was once so bright in my children, has dimmed and I have no idea where I can start to find a solution to give it back. I want to put my son and daughter in Individual and sibling therapy.
So they can heal mentally and emotionally.
As a mother, I wish I could get justice more than anything. Hit and runs already are horribly appalling situations; But it's incredibly painful That these are the victims suffering this time around. They know that their family loves and supports them. They would love it to know that others love and support them as well. Please show and be proud of Cobi and Victoria, just as much as I am. For those who can and for those who aren't able but would if they could; The kids and I thank you and your support in advance. Abundant love and happiness to you all.
