Therapy Expenses for Piper Hester

Piper was diagnosed with Lissencephaly in April of 2016. In the fall of 2016 Piper attended a 3 week extensive therapy program at the NAPA Center near Los Angeles, CA. Through this wonderful program and its specialized therapists, Piper was able to develop and improve muscles and motor skills in an environment that was targeted for her specific needs and abilities. Schylar was also able to learn many exercises to practice at home to continue growing and developing Piper's new skills. It was so exciting to watch God work through the individuals there as they encouraged Ben and Schylar and loved on Piper with knowledge and expertise that isn't available here in Arkansas!

Each round of sessions costs about $3,180 and the extended stay hotel is about $3,809. They will also incur costs for flights, car rentals and/or public transportation, and general living expenses like food and groceries that are much higher than those here in Arkansas.

They recommend 2 rounds of treatments a year for Piper's age. They were able to schedule 1 session for September of 2017 when they were there in the fall of 2016, but the program stays booked almost year round and they had to be put on a waiting list for her other session for 2017. BUT - We are excited to share that God has opened the door for them to attend another 3 week session that starts on January 30th!
