Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my sweet Reagan, who was recently diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Extrusion (IVDE) — a painful and serious condition affecting her spine that's common in Corgis or dogs with long bodies. It came on suddenly this past Saturday and since then, Reagan has been struggling to pick up her back legs, unable to go pee and potty comfortably, and is clearly in pain despite her brave little heart.

The next step in Reagan’s care is an MRI to locate the exact disc injury, followed by emergency spinal surgery to relieve the pressure on her spinal cord. The cost of this care — MRI, surgery, hospitalization, and recovery treatment is more than I can afford on my own. I failed to get pet insurance when she was a puppy and I won't be able to since this would be considered pre-existing. But I'm determined to give Reagan every chance to heal and live a full, happy life!!

Reagan is more than just a dog. She's my best friend, constant companion, and source of joy not only for myself but for all the people she visits as a Therapy dog. If you’ve ever met her, you know how special she is — sweet, loves to say hello to everyone, loves to be petted, and full of personality. I always tell people, if she were human she would be a tom boy. Plays rough and can handle the big dogs. She deserves the best shot at recovery!

**Tuesday 7/1 - she is currently in surgery that takes about a couple of hours. I will update as I receive more news.

Surgery was smooth, straight forward and successful! Her surgeon said she did amazing! They found a huge disk that was intruding into the spinal canal hitting the spinal cord. She'll stay overnight for 2 days and will be able to come home Thursday 7/3.

**Wednesday 7/2 - I received our 9:00 am follow up call. There is good movement in Reagan's back legs but not standing yet. She will continue to be given anti anxiety meds to keep her calm. She ate well this morning and plans to be discharged tomorrow afternoon, 7/3.

** Wednesday 7/3 - Reagan is doing well, eating and has been cleared for discharge this afternoon. Thank you to those who reached out, sent well wishes, donated, and prayed for her. We couldn’t do this without you all. We are forever grateful!
