Hi my name is Emmett Donoghue, and I have a dog named Monday. Our dog Monday is a Giving Retriever, and in fact the first time I met her was in a Cottle classroom. My family found Heidi B and the Giving Retrievers when we started searching for a service dog to help comfort us all, especially me when I have big feelings. I told my mom about these cute dogs that come into the school and we started training with Heidi which helped me & my whole family learn more about dogs, dog training & how animals can help anyone find confidence, comfort and friendship. I have Autism and sometimes connecting with people isn’t something I am interested in, but I will always connect about dogs! Then one day my mom brought home one of the dogs we were training with, Monday, and told us we trained her to fit right in with our family! Since then, Monday has shown me how to be the best dog owner & friend. We go everywhere with Monday and she continues to work with the elderly and cheers up people at Mom’s job too! The Giving Retriever program gives so much and we are so grateful we found them, Heidi and Monday.
