Hello, my name is Zack Simpson and along with my sister, Tricia Simpson-Johnson, and my brother, Jason Maier, we would like to say thanks for taking a moment to read this and giving it your consideration!
My parents, Thom and Susie Maier, of Burneyville, OK are victims of a recent flood that struck their retirement community, Falconhead. The area they live in is not considered a flood plain and so they aren't eligable to buy or recieve flood insurance. In addition, the area isn't populated enough for the government to classify it a disaster relief area so there's no federal funding available to them. They are now faced with having to pay for home repairs and renovations out of pocket. The rough estimates they've received so far have been around $25,000.
They're a retired FedEx driver and Oklahoma elementary school teacher which hasn't allowed them to save as much as others for their golden years. They spent all of their adult life working tirelessly so their three children never went without.
I love my parents and my concern for them is really more about their emotional well being rather than financial, but that doesn't make their current financial needs dissapear. They are proud people and would never consider requesting finances in such a public manner, but these are not typical circumstances.
This is one of the hardest things they've gone through in their life and I know that if there's anything you would like to contribute to make this a little easier on them it would mean the world to them. If you can't afford to contribute, but want to help out then please "Share" their story with others.
Thanks again!
