2nd Battalion 1st Marines Events Fundraiser

Donation protected
Support our Marines impacted by recent terrorism attack in Kabul Afghanistan.

In April of 2021, the 2nd Battalion 1st Marines (2/1) acted as a Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command in Kabul, Afghanistan.

This historic evacuation of Americans and our Allies out of Afghanistan resulted in thirteen fatalities in one day along with several wounded in action (WIA). Nine Marines and one Navy Corpsman stationed with 2/1 aboard Camp Pendleton were killed in the line of duty (KIA).

Despite suffering great losses and severely wounded, our Marines continue to act with tremendous honor and courage.

Each year, our Marines gather to celebrate the birth of their beloved Corps on 10 November. Funds raised will be going to 2/1 Marine Corps Ball later in the month. Any excess funds will be allocated towards their future unit events focusing on mental health and camaraderie.

Along with many grateful Americans, The Echo Project will be raising funds to ensure the 2/1 Marines have a memorable birthday ball as they process the empty table of ten honoring the Kabul fallen.

The Echo Project was forged from the ashes of brotherhood by a group of Marines from 1st Marines 2nd Battalion (2/1) Echo Company who served together in Operation Iraqi Freedom. They lost nine brothers in arms from 2/1 in three months. They understand the importance of combat brotherhood that crosses all timelines. The Echo Project stands fast ready to support the current 2/1 Marines, Sailors and their families.  https://echoprojectfund.org/about-us

The Echo Project is an approved 501(c)(3) charity.  https://echoprojectfund.org/tax-info

We are on a mission to prevent veteran suicide and empower the Veteran community with the tools to maintain positive mental health, well-being, and sustainment.

Through their own experience and struggles with PTSD, the founders of The Echo Project discovered that the most effective therapy was simple. Activities with other combat Vets or simply getting back together with other brothers in arms.

*All fundraising efforts are done independently from the USMC, 2/1 and associated members and organizations.
