The Priests are headed back down to Guadalajara in July!
Last summer we traveled down to Guadalajara with our brothers and sisters from the Garden Fellowship and our lives were forever changed! It made an impact on our family more than we ever could have imagined. Tyler and Landon still talk about the trip, the friends they made and pray for the people there daily. It truly has been amazing to watch the Lord work in and through them, and our family through this mission over the last year.
While down there the team works alongside Brazos de Amistad, a soup kitchen that feeds and ministers to the street kids in the area. Last summer the team built a roof over the soup kitchen, led a 3-day VBS (vacation Bible school) program, had an outreach event in the local park, a women's ministry night, just to name a few... We went down there thinking we were going to be a blessing, help this ministry and the men and women who serve day in and day out, but we came away being the ones blessed tenfold.
This year the team will be doing much of the same as last year, along with some new... VBS, local outreach, women's retreat, serving along Brazos de Amistad at the soup kitchen during the week and finishing out the construction for the soup kitchen. It is a full schedule and we will be exhausted but it is worth every second of it!
We knew leaving last year that we would be going down there again, and prayed that it would be sooner than later! We signed up as soon as the team began planning this years trip and cannot wait to be back there! We leave on July 23rd and return back home August 1st. Chad has recently switched employers (an answer to prayer!) but with that he now doesn't have vacation days or paid time off, so we're fundraising to cover the time he'll be away from work.
More than anything through all of this, we ask you to pray for us and the team as we prepare to go and pour out Jesus and His love to His people in Guadalajara -- that the people and the kids there would be open and receptive as we share with them and that many would come to salvation and make an eternal impact during our time there!
