This is the official Go Fund Me page for The Pillar of Hope, Inc. All donations go directly into The Pillar of Hope account for immediate use.
The Pillar of Hope is a nonprofit organization created to serve the needs of the community. In partnership with The Sanctuary Christian Fellowship Church and the help of volunteers, we will provide living essentials, support groups, life skills training, and health and nutrition education.
Your donations will allow us to provide school supplies, uniforms, and backpacks for needy children for the upcoming school year. Additionally, we will begin our Life Skills education and Health & Nutrition services.
We will have classes for those who are finding it difficult to navigate through various life situations. Class topics will include, but are not limited to: Grief, Caring for the Elderly, Caring for Special Needs Children, How to Deal with Divorce, Money Management, Marriage Counseling, Parenting Classes, Resume Building, Dealing with Substance Abuse, Preventing and Reporting Child Abuse, Stress Management, Self-Defense, and How to Deal with Bullying.
We will also offer classes specifically for senior citizens. Class will include art, knitting, gardening, dancing and more. The Pillar of Hope, Inc. is committed to enhancing the lives in the community.
We will host blood drives, health screenings for hypertension, diabetes, vision impairment, hearing impairment, and AIDS. Yoga & Zumba classes will be offered. Additionally, we will offer healthy cooking classes to teach how to prepare healthy meals.
For children, a tutoring program for those in kindergarten through 12th grade will be offered. Tutoring will be given for Math, Science & Reading Comprehension. As The Pillar of Hope grows, the program will expand and provide an after school program. Children will receive snacks, homework assistance and the opportunity to participate in recreational activities. Coaches will be on hand to teach various sports and have other educational activities like learning computer skills, performing arts, and sports.
My name is Rhovonda Brown and I am honored to be the president of The Pillar of Hope, Inc. and the chairman of The Pillar of Hope Community Development Center which will be planted in my hometown, Houston Texas. I'm a wife, mom, grandmother who loves family. I was born and raised in Houston where I lived most of my life in Trinity Garden. I have experienced many challenges and misfortunes: being a victim of abuse, witnessing the murder of my mother and the sudden death of my grandmother, and losing my oldest brother to AIDS. My journey has not always been easy nor pretty; yet, through it all, I have found hope and strength to overcome. Right now, I’m working on The Pillar of Hope, Inc., a huge project that will allow me to help others find hope and strength to overcome whatever battles they may face.
Through our services, we will bring encouragement, support, and hope to a needy community. This project is epic, so great that I cannot do it alone. I need your support. Help me raise money for The Pillar of Hope, Inc.

Help bring hope to the teenager who is being physically and sexually abused. Bring hope to the son who has lost his way to peer pressure, drugs and alcohol. Let’s bring hope to the mother who just received the awful news that her baby was killed by a drunk driver. The Pillar of Hope will provide Life Skills education that will guide families through challenging times.
Help bring hope to a father who is unable to provide food for his family. The Pillar of Hope will offer a food pantry that will distribute nonperishable food items once a month to those in need.
I know you're wondering, how in the world can you help. Well, you can! You and I can bring hope to a community that truly needs it.
