The members of Theos condemn all racial discrimination and the perpetuation of health inequalities. We believe it is the duty of every person—regardless of color, identity, or nationality—to listen, learn, stand up, and speak up in the face of injustice. Thus, we pledge to educate ourselves and those around us on these issues. We pledge to take action. Join us: we all must do better.

We aim to assist three organizations geared towards addressing racial injustices, mitigating health crises, and protecting/improving our communities. As a fraternity, we will also be donating a portion of dues—left over from the shortened semester—to these causes.

These are the three high-impact, Philadelphia-based organizations to which we, as a fraternity, will be donating the funds:

1.     Black Lives Matter Philadelphia
              -    A global organization founded in 2013 whose mission it is to eradicate white supremacy and intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities.

2.     Philadelphia Bail Fund
              -    A revolving fund that posts bail for people who are indigent and cannot afford bail. This organization’s goal is to keep families and communities together and vigorously advocate for the end to cash bail in Philadelphia.

3.     Fuel Our Heroes Penn
              -    One of many branches of a national initiative aimed at helping the healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID pandemic. Launched in May by rising Penn juniors, our campus's chapter has partnered with UPenn Hospital, which will use the money we raise to purchase PPE, support childcare costs, and provide housing for their (underpaid and overworked) healthcare staff fighting against the virus.

As of June 12, the money raised on this platform and on Venmo will be split up and donated to these amazing organizations. Due to the current climate, the funds raised will be heavily weighted towards the first two causes. Every penny helps.
