Between the pandemic, government shut-downs, and COVID cases on the rise in Orange County -- Theory Salon (and the salon industry as a whole) has had a lot to overcome this year. While we thought we were almost out of the woods, now, we're asking for support from our community.
On Sunday, June 28th, Erin Mills, the owner of Theory Salon, discovered a massive flood throughout the salon floors, caused by a break in the AC condensation line. As it stands, we are needing to replace the AC condensation line, rip out and replace the flooring, and redo the drywall and baseboard throughout the entire salon. On top of this, Erin has had to hire a moving company to remove any/all furniture from the salon (which required her to pay for an emergency storage unit) and an antibacterial cleaning company to address any mold caused by the flooding. Of course while all of this is happening, the salon will be closed for the next few weeks, leaving our staff unemployed for the second time this year. All of this has accumulated at least $15,000 in expenses.
The most heartbreaking part yet, is that what was supposed to be covered by insurance, has been denied completely, leaving our salon owner to carry the burden of all of these expenses on her shoulders.
Our team is committed to helping in anyway we can, but there is only so much we can do -- which is why we're choosing to reach out into our community and ask for support. Any amount will help, and is so greatly appreciated.
We cannot wait to get back to business and serve our community again.
With love,
Theory Salon Orlando
