Theo's Medical Expenses

 My name is River and I am supporting Theo in reaching out to our community for help with his medical expenses. He is feeling waves of anxiety and stress about his financial situation as he approaches surgery. 

  As many of you know, Theo Chappell is one of the kindest big hearted people in our community. He is always giving of his heart and time to friends and loved ones who need a listening ear, empathy, a hug, or a spontaneous jyotish reading  (Vedic astrology) to understand what the heck is going on spiritually in their lives! Now Theo, as a low income single parent, needs our support! 
 
 Theo has a benign growth in his groin that has grown in the last six months to the size of an avocado and is quite uncomfortable and mildly painful at this point.  This can certainly get worse if not dealt with soon.  It will require surgery to be removed.  The surgery is scheduled for June 3rd and will require a three week recovery period during which he will not be able to work his two businesses. 

Theo is self employed as a bodyworker/massage therapist and a handy man/electrician.  All very physical work that he will not be able to do during his recovery and will have no income during this time.

 Theo strives to be self sufficient, financially independent, and minimal credit debt, which is now maxed out.   The last decade has been tough, he is  living on a shoestring,  check to check to gratefully keep his boat afloat.  Auto, child and unexpected living expenses have knocked down any savings.  He has been working hard to recover financially from the impact of divorce,  loss of home and property assets, surgery from a broken hand which prevented him from working for six months in 2010, and the national economic crash which precipitated loss of business and bankruptcy in 2011. Last year he had an involuntary change in his spa employment which created an annual loss of 10k  followed by a slow work winter.  He also lost his work truck last fall when the engine blew and couldn't afford to replace it,  this has restricted the handy man jobs he can do.  

 Both parents are passed over and he doesn't have family who will offer significant financial support. He has been trying to sell some of his father's valuable art photography, but time is short now. 
 
 He has insurance to cover most of the cost of the surgery but will still owe about $1000 out of pocket to cover the medical expenses and needs $6000 to cover two months living  and recovery support expenses with his loss of work.
