Our precious Theo Boyas, born January 24, 2024, is one of fraternal twins—a boy and girl duo who should be enjoying their toddler years playing, exploring, and making memories together. Instead, Theo is fighting the battle of his life against an aggressive brain tumor.

Theo's Story:

On March 30, 2025, our world was turned upside down when Theo experienced his first seizures. After emergency hospitalization, a 24-hour EEG, and MRI imaging, we received devastating news: Theo has an NTRK1 fusion-positive high-grade glioma—a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.

What was initially diagnosed as a low-grade tumor has since been upgraded to high-grade, requiring immediate and ongoing intensive treatment. The tumor is quite large, and its location makes it inoperable, meaning surgery is not an option. Theo's only chance at fighting this cancer is through a targeted chemotherapy medication.

Current Treatment & Medical Needs:

Theo takes oral chemotherapy (larotrectinib) twice daily and undergoes MRI scans every three months to monitor tumor response. Despite treatment, he continues to experience daily seizures, requiring constant monitoring and care.

The Financial Reality:

To provide Theo with the round-the-clock care he needs and manage his complex medical schedule, his mother has had to leave her job. Between frequent specialist appointments, therapy sessions, and emergency hospital visits, the family is facing overwhelming medical bills and lost income.

Because the tumor is so large and cannot be surgically removed, Theo faces a long-term battle that requires ongoing chemotherapy, continuous monitoring, and specialized care—all of which comes with mounting costs.
