Theo Bartlett was a true little warrior — a brave, beautiful boy who defied the odds from the very beginning of his life.
Theo was born with a rare and complex congenital heart condition called Ebstein’s Anomaly with pulmonary atresia, affecting just 1 in 10,000 births. Before he was even born, doctors told his mum, Becky (known to many as Beanie) that he was unlikely to survive birth. Then that he wouldn’t survive the night.
But Theo had other plans.
At 20 weeks pregnant, Becky was heartbreakingly advised to terminate her pregnancy due to the severity of Theo’s condition. After seeing him on the screen and feeling him kick, she knew she couldn’t give up on her baby. The family chose hope.
Theo was born at 37 weeks at Bristol Royal Infirmary, and what followed was a life marked by extraordinary courage. Over the next 10 years, Theo survived five open-heart surgeries, multiple cardiac catheter procedures, sepsis, a perforated bowel, a stroke, and a spleen bleed. He endured more in his short life than most of us will face in a lifetime.
Despite everything, Theo continued to smile, love, and fight.
He was preparing for a sixth open-heart surgery when further complications arose, including SVC syndrome and multiple venous blockages, making his condition even more complex and fragile.
On Sunday 18th January 2026, 10-year-old Theo sadly lost his battle with his complex congenital heart conditions and passed away peacefully at his home.
Now, as Becky and her family try to navigate the unimaginable grief of losing their beloved boy, they are also facing the sudden reality of funeral costs and the immediate loss of disability and carers’ allowances — all within weeks, during a time when no family should have to worry about finances.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help ease that burden and allow Theo’s family the space to grieve, remember, and honour the incredible little boy who changed so many lives.
Any donation, no matter how small, and any share of this page means more than words can express. Thank you for helping us support Theo’s family and keep his brave spirit alive.
