In February, The NEO worked with renowned engineer Paul Pilsneniks to record 12 brand new tracks with the biggest NEO band ever. The 11 musicians (including a 7 piece horn section) spent the stormy wet season here in Darwin and built a warehouse studio to catch the sound of the new songs. We are so proud of how it’s coming along. The initial costs were covered by shows we played in 2020, but we need your help to have the album professionally mixed and mastered.
With your contribution we can mix the songs and then send you the album when we finish the project later in 2021.
The working title is FOTU (Fear Of The Unknown) and it explores darkest fears and desires. It is, at times, deeply intimate or subversive and at other times celebratory and irreverent. Drawing from an enormous repertoire of shows such as Breaking the DUB Barrier, Funk V Reggae and Off The Rails Cabaret, the album revels in soul, funk, ska, dub, blues and roots. The album is a full-power, soul-fuel experience.

Thank you everyone for your incredible support that has sustained our musical journeys over the years. It has been a wondrous journey from the top of Australia, to the bottom, East to West and through the Heart. To New Zealand and Europe, through indigenous communities, festivals, taverns, bars, galleries, cafes, back yards, national parks, hospital beds, swimming pools, trains and even underground. We play wherever there is life and we will continue to do so as long as we can breathe. Thank you for your love and support.
Together we will release our Fear Of The Unknown.
