The Moving Joint Expansion

Hello Mar Vista, Venice, Marina Del Rey & ALL West L.A. Residents:

We are The Moving Joint! A woman-owned neighborhood Movement studio dedicated to healing and strengthening our bodies through conscious & thoughful movement.  In this endeavor, over the last 2 1/2 years our studio has helped numerous people regain their vitality and range of motion while also ingraining ourselves in the community. All our instructors are highly gifted and we want to cotinue to offer a top-quality instruction for a long time.

Last month we found out neighbors next door at 12811 moved out. Right away we got our feet moving and we  signed a lease on the space. It is a large open space and we want to keep it that way. This will be our main mat pilates/yoga and workshop space.

But before we open the space, it needs some major TLC. We want to be able to host a variety of events and classes for the community. So we need to build a new floor, put up wall mirrors and curtains that will cover them, paint , adjust ceiling lighting fixtures, know down a wall and build a new door that will connect the spaces.

As you can guess this will require some funds to do and while the studio can absorb some of the expenses, the majority of the remodeling and work will have require us to raise an additional $20k.  This is where we ask if you can help us by participating in this fundraiser.
