The Mobile Parlor: It's Go Time!!!!

Donation protected
To my family, friends and professional network:
At one point or another I've probably expressed to you in person, via LinkedIn, through Facebook and Twitter Tweets, my burning desire to build a business that combines my enthusiasm to beautify the world with my passion to help eliminate racial divide.  If somehow I managed to miss you, consider this my official announcement!

How It All Started
In the summer of 2014, I was on maternity leave, sitting on the couch,  watching reoccurring news stories of unarmed black men being shot by police.

One day I was watching the Steve Harvey talk show and it was about entrepreneurs explaining how they became successful by mixing passion with purpose.  So there it was birthed, The Mobile Parlor! Gone are the days of limiting your customer base to those in your community. The Mobile Parlor will function as a multi-cultural establishment servicing men and women where it's most convenient.

What Problem Does This Solve? Why Will This Work?
As we get older our responsibilities increase and we have less and less time to do things for ourselves. We have kids, demanding careers and work schedules, dates to go on and professional events and functions to attend so free time is limited.

In addition, there are special moments in life: weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday parties, prom and other functions where a number of close friends and family need to be beautified and groomed together, with the least amount of personal stress and effort.

The Mobile Parlor solves it all! It can be there at your job during your lunch break, eliminating long Saturday afternoons waiting around for a haircut, blowout or makeup application. We can be at your hotel on your wedding day, pampering you and your wedding party. Got a show? Or a performance? We can show up at the venue and makeover the entire cast. The possibilities are endless, and without even knowing it, you just may be sitting next to someone you don't normally mingle with or doesn't look like someone in your inner circle. This opens the doors to breaking down social barriers that sometimes we don't even know exists, over something as common as a shave, color treatment, wash & go or manicure!

About Me
I graduated from the Univ. of South Carolina, double majoring in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.  Shortly thereafter, received my MBA from Keller with an emphasis in Marketing.  While working full-time, I started my own company on the side, Elevate By Design, where I worked with several small business owners building and creating their websites, marketing collateral, business cards and email campaigns.

I've secured positions in Corporate America as an Associate Marketing Manager giving me the experience of managing and growing brands and developing and executing marketing campaings. In addition, I've been a Project Planner, managing multiple projects from inception to launch.  I've been a hair enthusiast since the 4th grade and I knew one day I'd own my own salon.  I decided to reinvest my "free" time back into my passion and started on The Mobile Parlor Business Plan.  I've devoted my time to research, hair blogging (www.yesidigg.blogspot.com) vlogging (Youtube: Kesia King) and networking to better prepare myself to thrive in this industry.

I've made awesome contacts thus far and have been introduced to resources that will continue to aid in the success of this business.

The Goal

Raise $50,000

Phase1: The Trailer
As you can imagine this is the most important and most expensive piece, but once purchased it's done!  I've already been in talks with the supplier who has created the one below.

What If You Miss Your  Goal
GoFundMe is one avenue I'm using to raise capital. However, I'm investing my own money, seeking  personal and/or business loan options, looking into applying for grants and networking with venture capitalist and angel investors.

I have faith in God, myself and my network. Whatever funds I do secure via GoFundMe will be utlized to get this business launched.  I am totally committed to this vision and it will happen one way or another.  Your contributions will not go to waste!

I am grateful for any and every donation made, no matter the size.  One of the biggest gifts you can provide is the gift of sharing.  By sharing my campaign on your social networks, with friends, family and co-workers, you'll help connect me with potential donors that I can't reach.
