The Mannequin - A Das Stück Production

Donation protected

Become a Das Stück Sponsor and help us take 'The Mannequin' our new writing play to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer!!

Who are we?

We are Das Stück, a london-based theatre company that creates multimedia performances and focuses on new writing which explores the themes of identity, queerness, femme-oppression and the oppression of women, and artistic creation.

See below for more information about Das Stück...

For this production we have collaborated with The King's Players, to present this play not only at the Fringe Festival but also organise a series of London Previews that will take place in April at Kings College London and in July at a London based theatre (TBA).

Our project: Taking 'The Mannequin' to Edinbugh Fringe 2019!

This year, we've set ourselves the challenge to take our new writing play 'The Mannequin' written by our very own Sam Kindon to the Edingburgh Fringe Festival 2019 to ensure this queer story gets shared with a wide audience.

At this stage we have already invested and fundraised enough to secure us a place at the festival. However, as we set on our journey to fringe, WE NEED YOUR HELP, to be able to put on the best possible production of this amazing play, and to physically take it to the festival!

What is 'The Mannequin' about?

From the streets of Soho to the drag bars of Montmartre, the frantic lives of these artists all revolve around ‘The Mannequin’.  Models, designers, lovers, and writers all desire attention and validation in lives, only to be left feeling inadequate and alone. Throughout the course of two evenings they find solace in each other and their work leading to closure. In this multimedia production, a piece of new writing with original film and costume, relationships to the queer body and relationships within the arts industry are explored in a burst of film projection and sensory immersion.

Why we need YOUR help:

Taking a play to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is an incredible opportunity to present a play to a worldwide audience of theatre enthusiasts. However the productions costs are considerably high and as an independent and newly emerging theatre company, we do not have the capacity to cover them in their entirety

Whilst we are all personally investing in this project and applying to grants, the costs incurred by sourcing props/costumes/sets, transporting these alongside a 10+ people cast and team to Scotland, accommodation, venue hire, festival registration costs etc. are too high for us to be able to cover them all.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! Every donation made will help us cover our fixed costs and additionally, as a profit-split production, once these costs are covered, every donation will help our cast and production team physically get to Edinburgh to see all their hard work pay off!
