Help The Main House Rise From the Ashes ❤️

A little setback, a whole lot of heart, and a dream we're not ready to give up on.

If you've been following our journey with The Main House, you know just how much love, time, hard work, and money we've poured into bringing this little dream of ours to life.

We were so close to opening our doors in downtown Shelbyville when the unexpected happened. The building that was going to be home to The Main House caught fire, and suddenly, everything we had been working toward was turned upside down.

We want to be very transparent about something: We did not own the building that caught fire. However, we had moved forward with our business knowing that this location was secured and would be our home. We had already invested thousands of dollars into inventory, equipment, displays, supplies, and all the little details that go into opening a boutique.

Those investments were made with a specific location, budget, and opening plan in mind.

And then, overnight, our plans changed.

Walking away from this dream was never something we wanted to do. So instead, we started looking for another way forward.

And we found one!

We've made the decision to move forward with a new location for The Main House! It's a beautiful, much larger space that will allow us to grow into everything we've dreamed this boutique could become. More clothing, more local vendors, more unique gifts, more opportunities for consignors, and a place for our community to shop, gather, and support one another.

But this new opportunity comes with a much bigger financial commitment.

Our new rent is $3,500 per month, nearly double what we originally planned for. Between the security deposit, first and last month's rent, and the expenses we've already taken on to get this business off the ground, we're facing a financial hurdle we simply weren't expecting.

We've had so many wonderful people reach out asking how they can help, and several have encouraged us to start a GoFundMe. Asking for help isn't easy, especially when we've worked so hard to make this happen on our own. But we've also learned that sometimes being part of a community means allowing that community to show up for you, too.

That's why we're asking for a little help getting The Main House across the finish line.

Funds raised will go toward securing our new location, specifically the deposit and first and last month's rent, so we can move forward with opening our doors and bringing this dream to life.

But there's another piece of this that's incredibly important to us.

We also want to give back to BJ and Michelle.

They poured so much of their own time, energy, and hard work into preparing the original space for us. They believed in our vision and worked alongside us to help make it happen. The fire changed their plans, too, and we know this situation has been difficult for more than just us.

We would love to dedicate a portion of the money raised to BJ and Michelle as a way to show our gratitude and help them move forward as well.

Because at the end of the day, this isn't just about a boutique.

It's about people. It's about supporting one another when life throws something unexpected our way. It's about choosing to keep going when giving up would be easier.

We still believe in The Main House. We still believe in downtown Shelbyville. And we believe that something truly special can come from all of this.
