Hi everyone!

We are excited to announce that we have renewed our lease with our landlord and will now be staying at our current location through at least December 31, 2026.

Since we opened in November 2019 we have had over 550 adoptions and found forever homes for so many special rescue cats.

While we are mostly happy with our current location, we decided if we were going to stay, a number of upgrades would be needed. These will make it more comfortable for both our customers and of course, for the cats. So we have already begun the following upgrades to the cat cafe:

1. Our HVAC systems will receive a full servicing and tune-up, including replacing the insulation on our cooling lines and pulling all coils and blower assemblies for a full cleaning. This work has already been 90% completed, and our guests should notice a much more comfortable cat lounge, especially coming out of the summer heat.

2. We are installing a drop ceiling for the cat lounge, to lower the ceiling from 16 feet to 10. The grid for this was installed on August 7. This will make the lounge feel more cozy and also reduce our utility bills, which have skyrocketed in 2023. The work will be completed soon after we have our other services complete their needed work.

3. We will be replacing our unpredictable and malfunctioning lights with new energy efficient LEDs throughout the cat lounge.

4. Our HVAC service will be coming to run new proper ductwork throughout the cat lounge so that the area can be cooled more efficiently and balanced once the drop ceiling is finished.

5. Because we will finally have a proper ceiling, we will be able to install a lot more verticals on the walls for the cats to have more opportunities for playing and climbing.

These are all Phase I of our upgrades and should be completed within the next few weeks.

Phase II will include:

6. Installation of bar seating in the front area along the wall to allow more room for customers waiting to enter the cat lounge or enjoying any of our food or drink options.

7. The moving of our glass doors forward to the front of our middle hallway to increase the size of the cat area.

8. Some plumbing upgrades to our storage closet area so we can install a washer and dryer on cafe premises to better handle laundry.

9. Electrical upgrades to our bar area to better handle the appliance load.

10. Additional shelving and storage in our bar area to better handle inventory.

If we can afford it, Phase III will include:

11. The removal of the wall to our storage room in the hallway, so that the storage area can be added as usable space for the cat lounge.

12. The adding of a window to the front of the former hallway storage room, and bar seating in front of it, so that customers can eat or drink while looking directly into the cat lounge.

All of this, of course, costs money. A lot of it. We have had a busy summer at the cafe, and so we are reinvesting a lot of our revenue back into our space to make a better experience for both our customers and of course our cats.

To complete all this, we are asking if you would be willing to help us with these upgrades.

We're setting $10,000 as our goal. If we can raise more than that, we can use it to make even more improvements to the cafe space. But even if we don't reach our goal, we'll make as many upgrades in our space as we can afford.
