Shurie, her husband Travis, and their 1-year-old son Fox are dear friends of ours. I first met Shurie and Travis over a decade ago through my wife Sarah, who grew up with Shurie in Simi Valley. Our families have always been close, and over the years, we’ve shared many milestones and memories together. Shurie and Travis are the kind of people who light up a room and are always there for others, no matter what.
On Friday, December 12, Shurie and little Fox were involved in a traumatic car accident just after leaving Fox’s preschool. Their car was T-boned, with the impact narrowly missing Fox and crushing the car behind his door. Miraculously, both Shurie and Fox were able to walk away with only scrapes and bruises, but the car was left totaled. They are now safe at home, slowly recovering from the shock and trauma of the accident, but the emotional and financial toll is significant.
Right now, they need immediate help covering urgent costs: a rental car, a new car seat, the emergency hospital visit, ambulance fees, towing costs, and tow storage fees. Having been the primary caregiver for the first year of her Fox's life, Shurie has not been able to work in over a year, adding to the financial urgency of this moment. These unexpected expenses are a heavy burden as they work to recover and get back on their feet. Travis and Shurie are incredible people who have overcome hardships to build their beautiful life together, and this accident has shaken them deeply. Any support you can offer will mean the world to them as they navigate this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
