“Time is something that cannot be bought, it cannot be wagered with God, and it is not in endless supply...Time is simply how you live your life.”
- Craig Sager
On July 19, 2016 my older cousin Theizu was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The news shocked our entire family. Fewer than 5% of breast cancer diagnoses occur in women under 40, making Theizu's diagnosis at the young age of 28 all the more crushing.
After removing what was thought to be fibroadenoma
turned out to be positive for cancer, Theizu spent the summer in and out of doctors offices and labs doing test and making plans with her medical team. In the end, a double mastectomy and chemotherapy was on the 2016 plan for Theizu.
As a young, vivious woman, she knew she would not want to have another reoccurance. Between the chemo and looking into some holistic options, Theizu is determined to win the fight.
On November 16th the gracious people at the daytime talkshow 'The Real' were kind enough to have my cousin and her boyfriend Bryan on their program. The hosts surprised Theizu with a complete makeover to prepare her for an even bigger surprise...Bryan proposed!
Wedding bells are on the horizon but first Theizu has to finish this fight. My cousin's prognosis is good, but the months ahead are going to be hard; physically, emotionally, and financially. I started this campaign with the hopes of taking some of the financial burden off her shoulders so she could focus on her recovery and planning her wedding.
Although insurance is a great help, this is an expensive fight and we are open to any help friends and family want to lend. Please feel free to donate anonymously as we would like to create an environment where there is no pressure.
Donations to this fund are going to help pay for Theizu's double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and all other necessary expenses that occur along the way.
Cancer sucks but it teaches those impacted by it to appreciate every moment. Tomorrow is not promised so live for the daily blessing big and small.
Thank you all for your support as Theizu wins this fight! God bless!
