Hi everyone, Andrew and Lyn Barnard long time family friends are totally devastated of the loss of their home and dream retirement.

We write this with a heavy heart to ask for help for our parents, Andrew and Lyn, who have just lost everything in the fire.

They are both safe, which is what matters most. Andrew was in Melbourne at the time, and Lyn evacuated with friends from her street—a close-knit group of neighbours who support each other like family. In the middle of the fear and uncertainty, Heather and Wayne stepped in and took care of Lyn, helping her evacuate and keeping her safe.

But when it was finally possible to return, the reality was devastating: the fire had taken everything. Their house, caravan, boat—everything they owned is gone. So are the everyday essentials and the irreplaceable parts of a life: clothes, personal belongings, photos, and keepsakes that can never be replaced.

Right now, they are starting again from nothing. We’re raising funds to help them cover immediate essentials—basic clothing and supplies, temporary accommodation costs, and the first steps toward rebuilding their lives with dignity and stability.
