Friends and Family,
I hope everyone is enjoying this much anticipated summer weather. Back in February my good friend Waylon Kimball and myself decided to challenge ourselves to take on the Pan Mass Challenge. http://www.pmc.org/ The "PMC" raised over $47 Million in 2016 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and expects to exceed that number in 2017.
At the time we signed up it was merely for the challenge of a 200 mile bike ride across Massachusetts. We knew we were supporting a great cause but at the time cancer was not effecting anyone in our immediate lives. Since that time it has hit much closer to home. Two people very close to myself, friends and family have been recently diagnosed. In March I received the news that long time family friend and golf professional at Raceway Golf Club, David Hall, was diagnosed with cancer. Just recently I received a phone call from one of my best friends that his father, Jack Faber, had been diagnosed. Both of these people have had a positive impact on my life since a very early age and this unfortunate news deeply impacted me. Our prayers are with them and their families as they make this arduous journey through this devastating disease.
With that being said we are now riding with more of a purpose. We are riding for David Hall and Jack Faber.

Team "The Highwaymen" - Our Story
Waylon and myself have been friends now for over two decades. About 3 years ago we decided to get into cycling together and have always talked about getting involved in a large event that would challenge us and benefit a great cause. The PMC was number one on the list (Mt Everest was actually number one on the list but didnt go over too well with the wives) and after debating for over two years we decided to finally commit. We decided to go all in our first year and signed up for the Sturbridge to Provincetown route: http://www.pmc.org/routes/sturbridge-provincetown Needless to say we may have bitten off a little more than we can chew at 100 miles a day for two days, but we are fully commited. So please support us and help us support a great cause!
PS- we are up to 30 miles a day training.... (we need the support)
Here is a little about the mission of the PMC
Raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is the core of the PMC mission. Since 2007, 100% of every dollar PMC cyclists raised goes directly to the Jimmy Fund. Since 1980, the PMC has contributed $547 million, which finances research in its earliest stages. Known as "seed money", PMC funds enable clinicians and scientists to pursue innovative research that has the potential to achieve the results that will warrant National Institutes of Health (NIH), or other private and government grants. In so many cases, this early support has fostered the development of some of the most important advances made in cancer research.
