The Glamatory , founded by Celebrity Makeup Artist Mimi Johnson, is a glamorous laboratory-themed professional makeup store and studio. The flagship store is located in Atlanta, GA and opened Spring 2015.
What makes The Glamatory different? Owner and makeup artist Mimi Johnson came up with The Glamatory because frankly she was tired of ordering all of her makeup from online or out of state stores. As a professional makeup artist in Atlanta, there are only a few options to get discounted high-quality makeup. With all of the TV/Film projects and special events, there are hundreds of working artists in Atlanta with needs of replenishing their kits with convenience. Therefore, The Glamatory will provide the opportunity for pros to get products that they love for their kits locally and affordable.
Additionally there are exclusive brands, many being minority owned, offered in the store that you may not be able to find anywhere locally in Atlanta, attracting not only makeup artists but any beauty enthusiast. Current brands include Becca Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin, Inglot, Embryolisse, Beauty Blender, Z Palette, Flutter, Pnk Digger and the Glamatory Brand just to name a few.
Lastly, the private studio offers glamorous events, beauty services, and makeup classes; inclusive of some of the best makeup artists Atlanta has to offer.
With great product offerings, professional discount program, an amazing makeup artist team, and a beautiful space, The Glamatory is bound to become the premiere place for all things makeup.

Who is Mimi?
Though The Glamatory is a newly formed business, founder Mimi is not new to the beauty industry. With over 9 years of experience, Mimi has a great reputation in Atlanta and is a well sought-after makeup artist. She works on popular television shows on networks such as Bravo, WE, and VH1, services clients including Angela Simmons, Toya Wright, Kenya Moore, Da Brat and Missy Elliott, and has been published in magazines such as Essence, Runway, Sister 2 Sister, The Knot, and Jezebel. Being an industry influencer, Mimi has a social media following of over 40,000 followers combined and has worked with major brands such as Colgate, Family Dollar, Shea Moisture, and Strength of Nature. Mimi also is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University, holding a B.A. degree in Marketing and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mimi’s background and influence has proven to be a huge factor in The Glamatory’s success.
Why is your support needed? Running a business in retail can be very expensive as capital is not only needed for running the space, but for the actual cost of goods being sold as well as payroll/staff. Inventory alone can cost 1,000 - 20,000 per beauty brand. Mimi, along with business partner Roderick Williams, has primarily funded this business on her own, but will need additional funds to be able to maintain the stores integrity while also being about to allow for expansion.
We hope to do the following with the money raised:
1) Expand our Glamatory makeup brand
2) Continue to support other woman-owned/minority owned brands
3) Hire more key personnel such as a store manager, social media manager
4) Potentially open new location
