Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is doing well.

My name is Benjamin Harmon. I run and curate content for The Giant Orange Cup on various social media such as TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

I have been chronically homeless for the past few years and currently I am living in a tent in the forest in Central Florida.

I have started this GoFundMe in hopes to jump-start a career I'd abandoned in the past relating to content editing, music production, and social media marketing. I have several high value skills that I provide remotely.

I have several years relating to my skills and I am pursuing self employment because I suffer from chronic migraines due to an accident from fourteen years ago. I'm also reestablishing myself in these fields because I can perform this type of work from anywhere with very little for resources.

I have been doing day labor for money from time to time but not only do I not have adequate transportation, my shoes are also falling apart. Additionally, I'm older and physically, because of lack of food and poor sleeping conditions, I am dealing with chronic back pain I'd developed in my early twenties.

Now for the big ask.

I have a few different things I am working towards and a few different things that my goal will fund.

First thing would be to get myself a used MacBook Air for music production and content editing. Apple has a program I've been using for the past twenty years called Logic Pro. This is a high level DAW that I use to edit other's content, music and voice acting. Logic Pro only works on MacOS. I do not need a new MacBook and I have found plenty of refurbished MacBooks in my area ranging from $150 to $500 dollars.

The next portion of money would go to a new bike and lock. I'm not trying to get an Ebike, just a standard bike from Walmart or Target. Everything is spread out in my area. It takes me thirty minutes to walk to the grocery store from where I sleep to charge my gear and utilize their microwave to heat up my meals. A bike would save me time and allow me to go different places that are too far to be accessible in a reasonable amount of time. For example, The Home Depot that is local to me that I receive day labor from takes an hour to walk to. The closest Walmart takes about two hours to walk to. The nearest thrift store that provides outreach services would take about four hours to walk to.

Again, since my shoes are falling apart, my next bit would go to a pair of sneakers and a pair of work boots. This is a big one. I started three and a half months ago with a brand new pair of shoes and due to the extensive walking I've done in that time, my shoes have completely fallen apart.

The above requests make up for about $750 to $1000 dollars. Here is what the other $1250 to $1000 dollars will go to.

It being Christmas time, a portion of this money would go to buying my children some gifts for the holidays. They currently live with their mother and this wonderful woman has been shouldering the financial burden of raising them for the past couple of years. As a single mother with rent and a car payment, she works extremely hard to keep our children happy and safe. I would like to be able to give her an additional amount of money, about $500 dollars worth, to help with anything she may need for them or herself for the holidays. I have four little ones and $500, though a small amount, would brighten her holidays with an unexpected gift.

As for the rest of the goal, this would go to any sort of things I'd need over the next month or so until day labor picks up again after the holidays. Some of these things would include;

Food
Clothing
Hygiene
Laundry Mat
Bus Transportation

Anything else will be put toward getting a new ID. Mine is currently expired. The rest of that goal will be stretched out over the next couple of months for the above necessities.

I don't like asking for help but I have been stretched thin in my current situation. As of today I have about ten dollars to my name and a couple cans of ravioli to eat. I do have shelter for the time being and I am grateful to have my health. Since my work on my TikTok, I have been able to monetize myself but with the small following I currently have, I am not making boatloads of money. That being said, I would appreciate anybody that can provide a few dollars to help me reach my $2000 goal.
