What is my big picture plan? What do I hope to accomplish with my training as a registered nurse? Over the course of the past two years God has placed within me a desire to bring healing to others, spiritually, mentally, and physically. In light of this, I want to establish a lifestyle center where guests can come and benefit from naturopathic treatments and practical trainings on healthy living. This would be accomplished through various facets such as cooking classes, health expos, hydrotherapy trainings, natural hygiene coaching, detoxes, and much more. With my background in nursing, I will be able to safely treat guests with their various maladies, as well as provide intellectual explanations for different health conditions and treatments.
As I prepare for this adventure, I have some challenges to face. Weimar is an excellent school with an amazing medical missionary nursing program. The State Nursing Board approves the program but the college itself is not yet accredited. What this means practically is that I can sit for nursing boards once I finish the program, but I will not be able to take advantage of the grants or guaranteed student loans that other students from accredited colleges have access to. This is difficult because, as of now, I don’t have the money needed to complete the A.S. Degree Nursing Program. My parents plan to help as they are able, but in between car payments, rent, and other expenses that come with caring for our homeschooling family of seven, financial support has been greatly limited. Because of this, I will need to pay my way through school on my own and I have been working to do so. However, without further assistance, I will not be able to reach my goal of completing the nursing program.
This is where the wonderful support of my family, community, and even strangers can come in. I need an estimated amount of $60,000 in order to complete the A.S. nursing program. At first glance, this seems like an overwhelming amount of money for one young person. However, I have come up with a way to look at this amount from a more manageable perspective. If…
6 people gave $10,000 or
12 people gave $5,000 or
120 people gave $500 or
1,200 people gave $50 or
12,000 people gave $5
...I would reach my goal.
This is why I have decided to call my campaign, “The Five Dollar Project”. If 12,000 individuals donated just $5, we will have reached our $60,000 goal, providing enough funds to support me through my college career. Do you know at least 10 people who would be willing to give up a Starbucks drink for a day in order to support an aspiring nursing student in her educational pursuit?
If it is in your heart to help me financially, your assistance would really be appreciated. If you would like to help, but are not able to assist financially, I would greatly desire your prayers. Please take a minute now to pray that I will be able to obtain the support needed to complete my program. Would you like to take part in this Five Dollar Project and assist me to go to school? Please consider donating today. Let us partner together to bring healing to a hurting world by God’s grace.
