I’m Tim Borys, and my driving purpose in life is to help as many people as possible experience how amazing life can be when you are healthy, happy, and fit.
Writing a book has been on my bucket list for over a decade, but last year I decided that it was finally time to write it.
In the 25 years since I've been a professional coach, obesity has more than tripled, people are more stressed, unhealthy, frustrated, and confused about health and wellness than ever. I'm trying not to take it personally!
There are too many diet and exercise books out there, and they obviously aren't working. So, I wrote The Fitness Curveball as an “Anti-workout and anti-diet book”.
That’s right, as a personal trainer, performance coach, and educator for more than two decades, I can honestly say that when people struggle to get fit and lose weight, the solution rarely has to do with workouts and nutrition, particularly in regards to dieting and going to the gym.
It has everything to do with a person’s mindset and their daily habits. Health, fitness, and happiness is so much more than counting calories and punishing yourself in the gym.
This approach is completely counterintuitive to most people, yet, it’s the reason why so many of these same people struggle to make progress.
It’s also why I named the book The Fitness Curveball. The Curveballs I refer to are the many myths, misconceptions, beliefs, and unexpected circumstances in life that hold you back from accomplishing their goals. We all have them, but successful people are able to identify and overcome them.
The book is based on the 4 Pillars of Performance philosophy I’ve developed through coaching thousands of clients over the past 25 years. In order of importance, these pillars are Mindset, Habits, Movement, and Fuel. Notice how workouts and dieting aren’t mentioned?
I’ve designed the book to provide you with the essential information you need to live a healthy, active, happy, and vibrant life. But, it’s not abstract information. You will have a simple, and practical roadmap for making the necessary changes across all areas of your life.
