Welcome to the GoFundMe page for our new album! Almost exactly a year ago we were tucked into a cozy little studio in Trumansburg, NY recording this album. And we had a fantastic time! Everything went great! Then, just a few weeks later, well, y'know, (gesturing vaguely towards 2020) all of THAT happened. Gigs cancelled, plans scrapped, etc. It took us a little while to regroup and sort things out. But, we are finally ready to go and we can't wait (any longer) to share this music with you!
The funds we raise will all go towards the album release. That includes a few basic steps left in the record-making process, such as...

This is our first full-length album as a trio but we've been playing together now for nearly 10 years. The material on this album is all original and ranges from dance music to folk songs. Some of it is brand new, some of it has been thoroughly road-tested. There's even a live bonus track from our set at the Rhythm & Roots Festival back in 2018!
The funds we raise will all go towards the album release. That includes a few basic steps left in the record-making process, such as...

There are always risks and challenges making records. We're mostly in the home stretch on this one and are hoping for a release date in early summer 2021. Of course, there are still a lot of unknowns around how and when we'll be able to return to playing live, in-person shows. Donating here will help us navigate through this "new normal" and hopefully reach a bigger audience than ever!

The year was 2010. Recently-former-teens and long-time brothers Andrew and Noah VanNorstrand met up with their brand new friend, multi-instrumentalist and hot sauce connoisseur Chris Miller, for a fateful adventure. They loaded up a borrowed 1989 Volvo station wagon with fiddles, guitars, banjos and saxophones, and headed out on a five-week road trip through the American southeast. They jammed on the beach, busked under a bridge, hung out at a festival on the Suwannee River, meticulously counted Cracker Barrel billboards and played some very, very strange little shows. And by the end, a band had been born! Over the next decade, Andrew, Noah and Chris continued to tour all over North America, often with the popular dance band Great Bear. Now, THE FAUX PAWS are once again striking out on their own with a distinctive sound that bends and blends traditional folk and classic country with driving dance hall rhythms and explosive improvisation.
