The Ethan Nedd- Bruce Foundation is being birthed following the tragic death of another young black son/nephew/brother and friend. Ethan was killed in South London. He would have turned 20 on the 14th June.
We are living in times of uncertainty and often our young and most vulnerable are forgotten. So where do they go for healing and support? If we can imagine how difficult it is for us to navigate the times we are living in imagine how hard it must be for our youth. Sadly there is not enough support out there.
The Foundation is developing programmes and offerings to provide resources, support and healing for vulnerable young minds with a focus on the power of healing, creativity and arts as a path to positive expression and transformation. Lots of people have been asking how they can support us and we are now gratefully ready to call in help and resources in getting our vision off the ground. Through mentorship, music, arts, education, access to healing, meditations and mental health support the Foundation is bringing to life a vision of a grassroots community working consciously towards a better future for our young people.
Throughout his life, Ethan took an interest in developing knowledge and connection to self. He always inspired his peers to do the same. The Foundation continues Ethan's life work of finding solutions and bridging gaps to a more positive future for young people. Both the subtle and obvious recurrence of brutality and victimisation triggers and activates trauma throughout black communities which is deeply impactful for vulnerable young people with little or no emotional support. There has never been a greater urgency to recognise and heal the devastating impact disempowerment and disconnection has had on young minds.
Any donation you are able to offer however small would be extremely gratefully received. If you are not in a position to help financially please share and help spread the message. We are also looking to connect to creatives and organisations working towards conscious solutions for young people so please get in touch if the work of the Foundation is aligned with your work and together we can build safe communities for all young people.
