For the first time ever, Nova Scotia is set to be represented by at least 4 athletes at the 2016 Canadian Senior Weightlifting Championships which will be held May 21-22, 2016 in Richmond, British Columbia. This will mark the largest representation that Nova Scotia will ever send to a National competition.
The athletes of the Nova Scotia Qualified Weightlifting Team have trained hard to earn their place on this year’s team, but the road to Nationals is more than just making the cut. Having already invested significant funds in training and preparation, they will also have to fund their trip to Richmond to compete.
Please support your local athletes by making a donation towards transportation, food and lodging. Your generous support will ensure that Nova Scotia is represented to its full potential at the Canadian Senior Championships this year. This marks an important milestone for putting Nova Scotia “back on the weightlifting map” - #theeastiscoming !
The fundrasing goal for the campaign is based on the following breakdown of expenses (Length of trip: 6 days):
Flights: $850 pp
Accomodations: $535 pp
Ground Transportation: $75 pp
Food: $450 pp (athletes eat A LOT!)
Competition Fees: $190
Trip cost per person: $ 1,950
Total for 4 confirmed athletes: $ 7,800
From the members of the Nova Scotia Qualified Weightlifting Team, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
