Help the Daniel family make memories
The best thing about memories is making them…
First of all I am going to have to tell you a sad story, one that makes my heart ache.
In 2020, while the world was adjusting to life in the pandemic, the unimaginable was unfolding for the Daniel family; Luke, Kerry, Poppy - 10 and Roxi – 8.
Weeks into the lockdown, Luke developed worrying symptoms that sent him in search of medical help and, in May 2020, he was diagnosed with T4 bowel cancer. Despite emergency surgery followed by chemotherapy, in July 2021 at the age of 34, Luke was given a terminal diagnosis. He is now facing the reality of leaving behind his loving wife and daughters.
But this page is not just about them - for them, definitely - but it's also about us.
It's for those of us who wish beyond wishes that they could wave a magic wand and fix this. But we can't.
It's for those of us who would give anything, literally anything, to take those girls into the biggest hug and tell them it is going to be ok. But it's not.
It's for those of us hoping and praying for a miracle that will give this story a different ending. But it won't.
What we can do is help raise funds to enable Luke and his young family to make as many memories as possible in the time he has left. Memories that will live beyond him. Memories that his family can hold on to and treasure forever.
So, this page has been created for their family, friends and colleagues who feel so helpless. For anyone whose life has been touched by this devastating disease and have felt that same helplessness. And also, for those of you who may just have been touched by that sad story.
