Send Committee to ICCA Semifinals!

Hi there! We’re The Committee, the newest co-ed a cappella group to join the University of Waterloo’s A Cappella club. We are a tight-knit group of best friends and pride ourselves on our friendship and passion for a cappella. We began two years ago in 2014 as the choreography committee for a non-auditioned group (ACE) at UW, and have since grown as singers, performers, and friends.
On February 27th, The Committee placed 2nd at our Central Region Quarterfinal in Rochester, NY of the International Championship for Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA)! We also took home the award for Outstanding Vocal Percussion (Koby Pathmanathar for Recovery and Rhythm Nation/Slave to the Rhythm). Since we were one of the top two groups in our quarterfinal, we qualified to compete at the Central Region Semifinals. We are extremely excited and honoured to be representing the University of Waterloo and Canada as one of the two Canadian groups to make it to Semifinals this year.
We are scheduled to compete in the Semifinals at the Buffalo Center for the Arts on April 2nd and we need your help to get there! So far, members have had to pay out of pocket for transportation and accommodation fees to pursue our passion and perform at the ICCA, which was 3 to 4 hours away from our home in Waterloo this year. As we were already tight for Quarterfinals and were not anticipating having another chance to perform at Semifinals, many of our members do not have the finances available to afford a second trip. Because of this, we are turning to you, our friends and family, to help us.
It would mean the world to us if you choose to donate! Whether $1, $5, or $100, every donation makes a difference and we would be honored and thankful to have your support! We also offer perks to those who donate at least $5 as a small token of appreciation for your help!
We are extremely passionate about what we do - we have some of the most dedicated people to a cappella at the University of Waterloo in this group. All of our members are committed to providing amazing singing experiences for our fellow UW students through leadership positions across the club in multiple other groups. The Committee is truly a labour of love for all of its members and is centered around building a community for those interested in music and performance. We would love to be able share that in our Semifinal.
We are so proud of the audiences we have had the pleasure of performing for, but we need your help to take it to a new audience in Buffalo on April 2nd. Thank you so much for your love and support – it means the world to us.
