The Bonapartes at Ars Nova's ANT Fest
THE BONAPARTES is a new play by Joshua Williams, directed by Whitney Mosery. It's a good old-fashioned family drama. Except that the family in question is Napoleon Bonaparte; his wife Josephine, soon to be Empress of France; and her pet orangutan Rose, whom she raised as a human child. We follow the Bonapartes from room to room in their stately country mansion, watching them bicker and bite in bed, at table, in the greenhouses and on the lawns. Rose’s unique perspective and her acerbic wit expose the absurdity of war, colonialism, relationships and croquet in this darkly comic experimental tragedy.
THE BONAPARTES will be presented on June 13th at 7PM at Ars Nova in New York City, as part of their ANT Fest. We're looking for your support to help us pay our actors and designers, book rehearsal space, rent costumes and props, and publicize this exciting project. Thank you for your support of new theater!
