HELP REWRITE THE RACIAL NARRATIVE.

Awareness. Conversation. Solutions. --
 It Begins with You.

The Blackness Project is a featured length documentary film about culture and race from the African American perspective. The film was inspired from conversations about the "Whiteness Project" which is a documentary discussing race and the perceived loss of white privilege by white Americans.

"We have a desire to share voices that may not have been heard, to elevate the power of inclusion and encourage serious conversations," stated Korey Green, film director of The Blackness Project.

The main purpose of The Blackness Project film is to bridge the gap between white and black Americans with in depth interviews on race. The film will include interviews of black Americans discussing their experiences and thoughts about racism in America.

"It is important to know that we do not seek to divide with this project but to encourage serious conversations that lead to community led solutions," stated Peter Johnson, Executive Producer of The Blackness Project.

Why Join this Awareness Project?

Race Relations: Is your organization raising awareness and providing solutions? We would like to hear from you. Get Involved in our project.

2. This documentary strives to inform, elevate consciousness and inspire individuals and communities to embrace diversity.

3. Many projects focus on the images and voices affected by racism; however this project would like to take those voices and images and ask Americans to take another look but with a focus on humanity and how we can bridge the racial divide that leads to racial incidents.

Mayor Byron W. Brown was on hand to celebrate another movie being filmed this year in Buffalo.

“I thought the preview was powerful and provocative,” the mayor said.

How Funds Will Be Used

Your donation will be used to help begin the process of Rewriting America's racial narrative by helping us complete the production of The Blackness Project.

Funds will be used to pay for the production (filming, cameras, editing, sound, music etc.) to develop a professional documentary film.

We're hoping to exceed our $20,000 goal and be able to expand the geographical outreach to include an array of interviews across the United States.

We would like to include a college tour to show the documentary and engage students in an organized conversation.
